Lattice pergolas, also known as shade bar structures offer partial shade to a patio area. Some people prefer the light filtering through the lattice bars when attached to the house. Without a doubt, this Alumawood lattice pergola in Santa Clarita adds charm and practicality to any patio.
Homeowners chose the Latte color for the lattice structure. This patio cover has 2 posts and is attached to the wall with a ledger. It has rafters running from the ledger to the beam. The overhang is approximately 18″ on the front and each side as well. Double beams have been included to hold up the cover with 2″x3″ lattice bars spaced 3 inches apart. Another key point is the protective post bases installed as an upgrade. No electrical options were included.
How long did it take to build?
The Patiocovered crew took approximately 2 days to build this patio cover. This time span did not include demolition of the previous wood lattice cover which took about a day.
First step was to attach the aluminum ledger board filled with wood. Special structural screws are placed every 16 inches on center. The back of the ledger to wall attachment is waterproofed with silicone. Next the steel posts inserts are attached to the existing concrete patio with special stainless steel anchor bolts. The beams with steel inserts are then attached to the posts.
Rafters are then attached to the ledger with brackets from the back and to the beams with brackets as well. Lattice bars are then screwed onto each rafter with special screws that have rubber washers on them. Washers help to prevent water from entering the screw holes. Finally, the Alumawood Lattice Santa Clarita Pergola is detailed to make it look dazzling.
