The embedded steel posts are propped up with 2x4s so that they stay straight while the concrete drys. In the mean time, while waiting for the concrete footings to dry, the patio cover is mounted to the wall of the house with a ledger.
The second day of the project, the aluminum slip cover is installed over the steel posts and the sideplates secured to finish the H posts. The double beams are then mounted on the posts along wit one steel insert for better stability. The rafters are attached to the ledger and run from the ledger onto the beams and over hang approximately 18 inches. The lattice bars are then installed on top of the rafters. The Laguna Lattice Pergola is then detailed and all screws are installed to secure the caps to the aluminum.
